Dr Eve Timmins

My name is Dr Eve Timmins. I am a consultant psychiatrist who is passionate about helping others to be the best person they can. I commenced my Medical degree in my late 20’s having worked as a radiographer for many years. Being a doctor and helping people had been my dream as far back as I can remember as a child. I was successful at completing my Medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2002.  I worked as a resident at the Princess Alexandra Hospital before commencing my psychiatric training as a registrar at the Redlands and Royal Brisbane Hospitals. I completed my psychiatric training in 2010. I have completed my advanced training in in forensic psychiatry.  I worked at The Park – Centre for Mental Health as a psychiatrist for several years before moving to my own private practice. 

In addition to my formal training as a psychiatrist through the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, I have completed a Masters in Psychotherapy at the University of Queensland. As a part of this degree I completed a research project studying the link between empathy and cognition. I also have a Masters in Criminology from Sydney University and have almost completed a Masters in Health Law.

Since working in private practice I have provided treatment and psychotherapy to patients in addition to  independent reports and expert opinion for the courts in both civil and criminal jurisdictions.
